Jim Hoogerhyde set a new land speed record in California, piloting a solar-powered electric production motorcycle, reaching 189.086 miles per hour in 1.3 miles at El Mirage. The motorcycle is the Lightening SuperBike, created by Lightning Motorcycles. Pictures and more at the Discovery news site. Congratulations Slim!

The SFMC one again finds it's ways into motorcycling's history books when member, motorcycle shop owner, and local club racer Jennifer Bromme made history in the inaugural TTXP electric motorcycle race. This article over at Gas 2.0 has some nice things to say about our Jennifer, and our club.

Northern California road racing returns to Sonoma county the last weekend of April. Several SFMC members will be on track along with some of the fastest road racers on the west coast. Infineon Raceway, also known as Sears Point, is a short distance away at the southern most part of Sonoma county.
